QGIS is supported by donors and sustaining members. From the QGIS community we hope you enjoy this release! If you wish to donate time, money or otherwise get involved in making QGIS more awesome, please wander along to and lend a hand! We would like to thank the developers, documenters, testers and all the many folks out there who volunteer their time and effort (or fund people to do so). If you have not already done so, take a look at the changelogs from Version 3.0 and Version 3.2 to understand the full scope of changes in the 3.4 release. Please bear in mind that 3.x plugins are incompatible with 2.x plugins so review your plugin usage carefully - and if possible help to migrate old plugins to the new platform. For users moving over from the 2.18 LTR there is a huge list of new features and impactful changes in this new LTR version. This is a giant leap forward for the project - our first Long Term Release based on the 3.x platform. After five consolidation point releases (3.4.5) it will replace the previous LTR in the package repositories in February 2019 (see release schedule). The first long-term release (LTR) of QGIS 3.
